Terms of Use

By accessing or using Ridgeline at ridgeline.rocks (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms with an updated date, and — if you have an account — by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.

Ridgeline is a free, web-based tool that generates adventure motorcycle route suggestions based on user-defined start and end points. It exports routes in GPX format for use with navigation devices and mapping applications.

Ridgeline is provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future, subject to updated Terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or 16 if you are located in the EEA). By using Ridgeline, you represent that you meet this requirement.

To access features such as saving routes, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with others.
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the Service for any illegal activity or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the Service.
• Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access, query, or extract data from the Service without our prior written consent.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.

When you save routes or other content to your account ("User Content"), you retain ownership of that content.

By saving content to Ridgeline, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and serve that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim any ownership over your saved routes.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you store does not infringe the rights of third parties.

We may delete User Content if your account is terminated or if we believe the content violates these Terms.

The Ridgeline name, logo, software, interface design, and all other content and materials we create are our exclusive property (or licensed to us) and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Map data: Route generation uses map data from OpenStreetMap, which is made available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). We do not claim ownership of OpenStreetMap data.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission, except as permitted by applicable law.

The Service integrates with third-party services. Your use of the Service may be subject to those providers' own terms and privacy policies.

We use OpenStreetMap data and routing services to generate routes. Route quality depends on the accuracy and completeness of that underlying data, which is community-maintained and outside our control.

We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of any third-party services.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
• Any routes, distances, surface types, difficulty ratings, or other information generated by the Service will be accurate or suitable for your specific use.
• The Service will be available at any particular time or location.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. In those jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ridgeline and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Personal injury or death arising from use of a generated route.
• Loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.
• Damages resulting from your reliance on any route, map, or other information provided by the Service.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed USD $10.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ridgeline and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; or (c) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 9 (Disclaimers), 10 (Limitation of Liability), 11 (Indemnification), and 13 (Governing Law) survive termination.

These Terms and any disputes arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the applicable law of Romania, without regard to conflict of law principles.

For users located in the EU, you have the right to bring disputes before the courts of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory EU law, including EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

• Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ridgeline regarding the Service.
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
• No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights freely.
